This lecture will provide the latest on the ground Burma report from two perspectives –human rights and media – with our two speakers, Alison Tate and Connie Levett.
Alison Tate was the representative of International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) for its joint fact finding mission with International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) on the Thai-Burma border in October.
Connie Levett is the Sydney Morning Herald journalist who filed reports on the recent uprising from Rangoon and the Thai-Burma border as special correspondent. She has 20 years’ experience in the media industry and was the South East Asia Correspondent from June 2004 to 2007.
