| Speaker: |

| Outline: |
China and India are two fastest growing economies in the world. Each with over 1.2 billion in population, combined they have two-fifth of the Worlds population. The rate of economic growth combined with their size, the Dragon and the Elephant boast impressive numbers and the global media attention to match.

Professor Bardhan is Professor of Economics at UC, Berkley and is also a co-chair of the MacArthur Foundation-funded Network on the Effects of Inequality on Economic Performance.
