Professor Victor Bulmer-Thomas OBE, one of the worlds foremost thinkers and economists will present Chinas Peaceful Development Six Reasons for Concern as Asialink.
Professor Bulmer-Thomas has been Director of Chatham House, home of the Royal Institute of International Affairs, since 2001 and Emeritus Professor of Economics at the University of London since 1998.
Under Professor Bulmer-Thomass leadership, Chatham House has re-established itself as a leading think tank on International Affairs and has expanded its areas of research to include Asia as well as International Security as high priority areas.
An expert in all aspects of international affairs, Professor Bulmer-Thomas is particularly highly regarded for his expertise in Latin American Studies, having just published The Cambridge Economic History of Latin America: Long 20th Century Volume 2 which analyses the onset of modern economic growth in Latin America to the present.
He has worked as a consultant for the European Commission, the US Agency for International Development and the Inter-American Development Fund, amongst others, and a range of multinational companies. He is also a Non-Executive Director of the New India Investment Trust.
